Job Description
Te Papa is a ground-breaking national museum that is known internationally for its unique and audience-centric experiences and exhibitions. We are seeking a thought leader in design and delivering to audiences, to lead the exceptional creative experience and content design teams. This is a senior leader role in the Audience and Insight Directorate.
From blockbuster experiences to nationally-significant kaupapa, from dinosaurs to surrealist art, this is a role for the head and the heart.
As the Head of Experience and Content Design, you will:
- Own, champion and evolve Te Papa experience design standards
- Lead a high performing team to manage and inspire their kaimahi, and provide collegial advice across Te Papa and the wider GLAM sector
- Develop approaches to advance Te Papa's strategy | Te Rautaki through our audience experiences and highly collegial ways of working
- Have strong empathy and cultural intelligence to lead experience design approaches for our priority audiences
You'll bring:
- Strategic vision and understanding of design and production in project environments
- A commitment to our vision as a Tiriti-based museum
- Experience at fostering and leading creative and innovative talent at a senior level to achieve their very best
- 7+ years of experience in a comparable production environment, working with audience psychographics and audience-centric information
This is a permanent full-time role based in Wellington
The salary range for this position will be between $154,344 to $183,283 pa with further room for progression through the band. Offers will be made within the range to reflect the skills and experience offered by the candidate and those required of the role, and internal relativities with other employees.
