Job Description
Revenue Growth Manager
Commercial | Audience and Experience
We're looking for a commercially sharp, analytically driven Revenue Growth Manager, someone who will own the revenue strategy, using data, insight and commercial judgement to maximise pricing, yield, demand forecasting and revenue performance across the full organisational value proposition.
Purpose of the position
The Revenue Growth Manager owns the revenue strategy, translating complex commercial and performance data into clear, actionable strategies that drive disciplined, high-quality decision making. Working as a core member of the Commercial team, this role partners closely with the Sales and Growth team to ensure revenue strategy underpins client acquisition, pipeline conversion and sustainable growth across all revenue streams.
You'll work in a way that reflects manaakitanga (care and respect), builds whanaungatanga (strong relationships), and encourages auahatanga (continuous improvement).
What success looks like
After your first year, people will describe you as someone who contributed to strengthening Te Papa's commercial capability - making pricing, yield and forecasting decisions with confidence and clarity, giving the Sales and Growth team the commercial frameworks they needed to win and retain business, and building trusted relationships across the organisation and with key industry partners. You will have established a revenue management function that is data-led, future-focused and deeply integrated with how the organisation plans, sells and grows.
Key responsibilities
You will support the development and delivery of agile revenue strategies across all of Te Papa's revenue streams, lead the annual pricing cycle, and provide forward-looking forecasts and performance insights that guide commercial decision-making at every level. You will partner closely with the Sales and Growth team to translate market intelligence into client-ready commercial propositions, review high-value proposals for commercial integrity, and ensure pricing frameworks and rate structures are competitive, consistent, and aligned to the organisation's commercial goals. You will represent Te Papa at relevant industry forums, contributing to the organisation's commercial profile in revenue and distribution markets.
Skills, experience and behaviours
We're looking for someone who brings proven experience in revenue management, commercial strategy or a closely related field - ideally within the hospitality, tourism, events or travel sector with a track record of driving revenue growth and managing complex, multi-stream revenue portfolios. You will have strong analytical and data interpretation capability, hands-on experience with revenue management systems and analytics platforms, and the ability to translate complex commercial data into clear, actionable recommendations. You are a confident communicator who influences at senior levels, and someone who builds trusted, productive relationships across a complex organisation with ease.
It's a bonus if you have experience working within a museum, arts, cultural or visitor attraction environment, or existing knowledge of the New Zealand tourism and events landscape. A commitment to ongoing learning that strengthens your understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga Māori and Mana Taonga practice is also highly valued.
What we offer
You will be part of a team that cares about what it does, works with purpose, and brings commercial ambition to one of Aotearoa's most significant organisations.
In addition:
- Real strategic ownership. This role has influence, visibility and scope to make a lasting commercial impact
- Career development in a commercially evolving organisation with growing ambition
- A bicultural workplace committed to Te Tiriti
- A values-driven team environment where your expertise is respected and your contribution matters
- Onsite Kindergarten, subsidised parking, café and store discounts, and free entry to paid exhibitions
